The Totem Pole of Reactivity is a method founded by CCG's CEO, Wendy Kessler, where the dog is evaluated on their triggers and comfort zones, in order to develop a behavioral modification plan that is sustainably fit for the pet owner and their dog. Read more in Our Method.
We give a general 2 week training plan for each dog, but each group class will differ based on the rate of achievements. If one class moves faster than the other, the class materials may be extended into a higher level curriculum. If a 2 week group class is slower at catching on, the classes may be extended to 3 weeks, 4 weeks, etc. Each class varies in pricing. Read more in Classes/Prices.
Yes. Dogs with bite histories will automatically be enrolled for muzzle training, and a mandatory 10 feet between dog and behaviorist will be maintained to build trust and ensure safety. In some cases, classes may need to be over Zoom to decrease stimulation.
This answer is situational to everyone's needs and goals. Typically, we describe training commitments as the equivalent as raising a 2 years old child. When they are asleep, training stops. When they are awake, training continues. We train for sustainability, not band-aid solutions.
Scheduling is a commitment, and as humans, emergency situations happen that can conflict with scheduling. We do not offer refunds, but we can reschedule within 12 hour notice.
Wendy has been training dogs since 7 years old with the Canadian Kennel Club, and professionally training dogs for over 12 years with 7 years in behavioral modification.
Send us an email and we can meet 1:1 to answer questions, as well as evaluate your dog to see which class will work perfectly for them!

If the discussed training plan is going at a slower rate, there are a few options.
1) We can discuss to modify the training plan. The warning we give to doing this is: your dog will need to start over again (no extra charges). This could take even longer, and it's not recommended.
2) We can increase the frequency of training per week at no extra cost.
3) If we are meeting all evaluation needs, but the behavior(s) persists, we will do a 72 hour board and train at no extra cost. If boarding is not desired, we will pick up your dog for an 8 hour training session.
We appreciate the trust in signing up with us to help modify your dog's behavior. Dog behavioral modifications can be as quickly as a few weeks, to months, to years. We clearly state all of these timelines in our contracts. Our contracts summarize the commitment our behaviorists have to each dog, as well as the commitment from each pet parent. The acknowledgment and understanding from both parties will have been agreed upon prior to payment, or else enrollment will be denied. If you have a complaint or grievance, we will do everything we can to help resolve each situation.
